Hi everyone, it's been a while since the last update.. busy with finals, finally finish and have the mood to go fishing.. hahaha!

Bait: Grey Prawns

Reached location to find a big structure in front of the jetty on the right.. Caught a variety of fishes.. Cowboy Fisherman Papa was a fan of the stone fishes that day.. 

 Saw my float and line crossing another kaki's line causing his bell to ring a little.. decided to retrieve my line.. upon retrieving, float shot down and I could feel the tug from a fish.. Stike!! Fish On!! Caught the largest orange spotted rabbit fish I've ever seen.. great fight, super fun on the size 1000 reel..

Later on.. float sank, Strike! Fish On!! Up came this weird looking fish... took one whole dead prawn (smaller sized prawn)... saw some tiny sharp teeth..

 Cowboy Fisherman Papa's second stone fish.. hahaha.. wouldn't it be great if they were groupers? Mmmmm...

Reached location with stomahache! Alamak.. have to walk all the way to the toilet.. good to have proper toilet but no toilet paper, remember to bring your own like I did hahahas.. 

Beautiful day, nice water.. but we're a bit late today, the tide has already gone out quite a bit..

Lots of todaks!! failed to secure a hook up after the todak took the bait and peeled a few metres of line from my new JiaDiaoNi 500 reel. Quite a good looking and smooth reel for the price, a fellow kaki came over last night to pick up a size 1000 JiaDiaoNi.. i showed him my size 500 and he's really interested in it, too cute and pretty to miss! But the sizing is different from usual, sizes look a big larger than normal. 

2 other kakis have caught a really nice sized solefish, it covered the base of that big blue pail! nice eating fish, happy for them!

We caught a wide variety of fishes today! Sizes were small so all released..

Cowboy Fisherman papa caught the Leng Chiam, Colorful Mud Skipper looking fish, Larger blue gill and Parrot fish!! 

I caught a juvenile Finger Marked Bream and Scat!!

We saw a big Sea Bass swimming around, not taking any of our baits. Beautiful gold, looks really carefree and happily swimming around hahaha.. estimate to be about 2kg.. goodbye Mr Kim, I'll be back!!!

Cowboy Fisherman papa, Ah Fai (me)

First fishing trip for the new year! Quite a good start for 2014!!

Reached East Coast around 12.30pm, water level was really high, some parts of the pavement were flooded by the incoming tide!

After pitching our base area, we started setting up our gears. Cowboy Fisherman papa went for his usual 2 surf rods but without a third shorter rod this time. Me targeting whitings, sat down to slowly tie my small hooks.. 

After putting the small pieces of grey prawn on the small hooks, Cast! Sat down and eat my brunch - super yummy seaside chicken rice (I always feel that chicken rice tastes best when fishing)

Fish on!! Nice Whiting! target fish is around, nice! Into ice box, cast! Fish on!! another Whiting!!

Cowboy Fisherman papa's target fish is still the red sea bream, his favourite fish!

Fish on! Whiting and a Leng Chiam!! Whiting into the ice box, Leng Chiam back into the sea..

Cowboy Fisherman papa has a take on his surf!! Up came a sea bream! Not his favourite but still a good table sized and good eating fish! 

"Wow!! Caught so many whitings already?" - Cowboy Fisherman papa 

Hahahaha.. Too bad I forget to bring my size 1000 reel with me, the set up this time overkills the fun.. 

Fish on!! 2 whitings together! Nice!! But this ended the whiting fun.. no more takes on the small hooks after that.. 

"Fish?" - a malay kaki asked Cowboy Fisherman papa as Cowboy Fisherman papa's surf rod was bending during retrieval.. 

"No fish, rubbish.." - Cowboy Fisherman exclaimed as there were no bites nor fight when he retrieve the line.

"Wow got grouper!!" - I shouted as I saw the wide mouth of the grouper, with the rest of its body hidden within the rubbish bag.. 

What a nice surprise for Cowboy Fisherman papa!!

Cowboy Fisherman papa then reeled back a puffer fish.. followed by multiple puffer fish attacks, taking away a number of hooks! 

"Ring Ring Ringgg!!!" Cowboy Fisherman papa's surf is bending quite furiously.. Strike! Fish on!!! Should be a good sized fish, peeling some lines out of the size 5000 reel.. A good sized Chao Xi!! 2 good sized Chao Xi in a week by Cowboy Fisherman papa!! awesome!!!

Then it started to rain..

"Ringg Ringg!" a smaller take than the chao xi, up came a smaller sea bream.. Cowboy Fisherman papa is on a roll!!

No more fishes for me after playing with a few juvenile bluegills? 

Then the sun came out again..

And then the rain started pouring again..

Cowboy Fisherman papa caught another small sea bream when the rain stopped..

Tiring day.. but really fun!!
